Dr. Asma Tabbasum
Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Asma Tabbasum is a Registered Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice) of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her placement training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) at Pain and Trauma Clinic, through the Bridge Training program for foreign trained Mental Health Professionals, Ontario. She earned her Doctorate degree in Psychology in 2007 at the Mysore University, India.
In her career, Dr. Tabbasum has also previously worked at various Universities in Canada, India, and Oman, during which she has taught courses in general psychology, abnormal psychology, child psychology and professional development. Dr Tabassum areas of interest and expertise include diagnostic assessment and the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Tabbasum has received training in Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Smoking cessation, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and has utilized them in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings both in Canada and India. In addition to her current role at the Dr Caffrey-Craig Clinic, Dr Tabbasum also provides consultation for adults within the Peel Region Community Services, Ontario and shehas extensive experience working within the caring profession.
Dr. Tabbasum is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Kannada. She provides treatment to adults with post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, depression, phobias, anxiety disorders, and panic disorders.
Dr. Tabbasum is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Bernadette Caffrey-Craig and Dr. Olivera Bojic, who are both registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), and Associates of the Dr. Caffrey-Craig Clinic
